My goals with this book, besides losing weight, were to have more energy and be more positive. I love that this book comes with recipes because I love cooking and trying new things. This help me to feel more successful by cooking and eating what’s talked about in the book. I’ve also been drinking the lemon water in the morning, I mentioned this in my second blog post found above, and it seems to really help my mood. It’s a good, healthy energy and mood booster first thing in the morning. The book also talks about mindset and morning routines. I think both of these are very powerful, especially for having a positive mindset/attitude. Sometimes I think it’s good to have a reminder about certain and I loved reading this part of the book. It’s very important that I start my day on the right foot and focus on my mindset so I can have the best time with my kids as possible.

It mentions in the book that “water helps digest your food, expel wastes, regulate your temperature, protect your tissues, cushion your joints, and protect your spinal column, among many other vital functions. It is through water that hormones flow to the proper organs, that nutrients reach all cells, and that toxins are diluted and removed from the body.” This is one of the reasons I want my kids drinking water throughout the day and I drink as much as possible. I started drinking more water after high school and I find myself drinking it a lot at night. I try to start earlier in the day now though and set a good example for my kids. I love that they easily drink water and go get it themselves too. I don’t have to push it at all. If I ever want something flavorful, I love adding lemon and/or cucumber to my water. It tastes great and I love that it has great benefits to it as well.

There’s a recipe in the book for fruit tarts. It’s the perfect thing to make with the kids because my son loves helping in the kitchen and he really loves fruit. I love being able to tach him how to cook and to try out new recipes with him too. These are delicious and would be perfect fo family get togethers and summer barbecues.

I especially love that this book is breaking down the walls of all the things we’ve been taught before. We’ve been traditionally taught to avoid carbs, have an early dinner, and never eat before bed. But the fact is, the latest scientific research shows us this earlier model is not the most ideal.
