Most of the Holidays this year have been and will continue to be very different than previous years. We had a small family birthday party for my oldest in February and then my youngest didn’t get to have his party in March. We still have all the party supplies waiting to take back for a refund because Party City hasn’t been opened again. Easter and Mother’s Day both looked different too, but nonetheless we still want to be around those close to us.

This year for Father’s Day, I got Sean a new memory foam pillow, a Darth Vader Father of the Year mug, and matching Mandalorian shirts for the boys. Avery’s actual matching shirt wasn’t arriving until the day after Father’s Day so I got him a different Baby Yoda shirt for their picture. We had a special big breakfast together at home and then we went to my parents house for lunch. We were having a barbecue and my grandparents were there too. I made jalepeno poppers, pasta salad, and rice krispy treats. I’ll share recipes for those later, they’re delicious.

It was really great to see my grandparents again for a little bit. We had an amazing barbecue with steak, deviled eggs, twice baked potatoes and the weather was great. The kids got to run around outside, the grandparents brought them water guns and they had so much fun with them. They also love checking on my moms chickens. My mom actually let the chickens out of their coop to walk around the backyard and they had so much fun seeing them up close without the fence/enclosure. The kids got so tired out from playing all day that they went to bed really early. It was a really great day and I hope we get to have more of those family days soon.
